👍eBay=⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐from me

I have always been leery of eBay purchases, but recently I bought some black pants & I had an all around good experience. The price was lower than I could find ANYWHERE & with free shipping, I couldn't resist. I plan to but more pants, but for my husband. If you've had a bad experience, don't miss out on great products for 1 rare mishap. We all know the risks involved in online purchasing, & so many people are so quick to write BAD reviews, especially if they are mad. I ONLY write positive reviews because there are other ways to deal with negative experiences with businesses, etc. Thank you for reading this advice-filled review that got a little off track.

Update:I did an appeal and won

Update:I did an appeal and won. I hope every honest seller gets this type of treatment in the future. My best advice is, don't sell any motherboards on eBay unless you want some special person putting in the CPU wrong, bending the pins and blaming you for sending it to them like that. Especially after a month of usage, which is ridiculous. Nowadays people believe their own lies and convince themselves and others it's the truth.

I would like to thank eBay for being on my side. Especially since I was wrongfully accused. I don't have a track record of selling nonsense to begin with, so it was only right.

Customer Service seems to be getting…

Customer Service seems to be getting quite bad recently adviser could not , or would not sort my problem out even though it would have been easy for him to. Lack of wanting to help the customer seemed to be the main problem. Thanks for your unhelpful customer care team.

Never sell on eBay

Never sell on eBay. I had a seller who broke the item and then claimed it wasn't as described, eBay then issued a full refund leaving me without any money or the item!

Sold an item

Sold an item, shipped the item immediately via UPS rather than USPS because they are the worst. Item arrived. Zero complaints. I have been an EBay customer for over 20 years. They stated they would hold my money for 14 days for everyone’s protection. Asked to get hold released. They said I should have used USPS, then they said I hadn’t sold an item in awhile so they wouldnt release the hold. I have been a perfect customer and seller always. It’s company policy and even after speaking with a manager they said they couldn’t release the hold. This is a perfect example as to why Big companies fail. There is no longer the customer service EBay used to have, the corporate asshats are too disconnected from the process and make policies that go against good business. Do yourself a favor and avoid EBay. It has become a joke. They are keeping my money hostage.

dealt with Reyjal to try and activate my ebay account. spent my time listing items to only be restricted and have no help to try and activate the account again. Absolute waste of my time and massive let down.
Will use other selling pages and never return to Ebay.

Don’t trust their money back guarantee

They don’t actually protect you with the eBay Money Back guarantee like they say they do. If a delivery goes missing, all the seller has to do is mark it as delivered and then it’s your word against theirs and eBay won’t step in. If you escalate via PayPal they close down your requests and refuse to help any further. So effectively they take your money and hold it indefinitely without a resolution for missing items.

I was with eBay for 17 years

I was with eBay for 17 years, mostly as a buyer. I spent tens of thousands of dollars over a period of time buying miscellaneous items.

Had a horrible experience with selling where eBay sided with a buyer who changed his mind, likely because he found an item cheaper after winning the bid against 7 others.

I challenged their ridiculous stance multiple times, but got the same boilerplate response. They then went on to deduct my account for MORE than I made after their fees, essentially making over $100 dollars off me on a $300 item.

They have a arcane, dictatorial and greedy business model that I want nothing ever to do with again.

eBay, I hope the $100 you made off me feels good, because you potentially lost thousands from me over my lifetime.

Good riddance!

Q:

I have sold a 2017 Planner with detailed description and ten pictures. Then a buyer wants to return but I don't offer returns. Nevertheless, eBay states that I have to respond to the buyer or else it will hurt my record. How come? The buyer wants to return because she changed her mind, and still I must accept?? What is wrong with this place

A:

I agree with Ebay, think of it this way, you buy something at the store, and want to return it - you can, It may not be new what your selling, but a person is still buying it, and may want to return it. Wait till you get hit with extra charges for shipping. For example your listing states $7.00 shipping, and when you purchase the postage it charges you $14.00. Now that a kicker!

A:

Disgusting marketplace. Indians running the company into the ground. No protection for sellers, it is just too awful now. Lost more money than I made and was kicked off for no reason whatsoever after being a Powerseller for 16 years. I am pleased not to be affiliated with that scam site and sell on other sites and am back to making money without being ripped off.

They'll force you to accept it no matter what... Their policies are ridiculous. I have 14 day return policy and I had a buyer open a case for an item that sold over a month ago and they're forcing me to accept it. I have been using ebay for 15 years but this is ridiculous. After I clear out my current inventory I will be closing my accounts!

Q:

Has anyone bought a car off of ebay from someone? If so can you tell me if it's worth it or not. Is it a scam? My friend found a car for sale and the seller goes through ebay to sell the car because they travel for work. They want her to send a money gram to the ebay buyer protection plan. The seller pays for the car to get shipped to her and if she doesn't like it then the seller pays for it to get shipped back and get a refund of her money. The money goes into an ebay trust account or somthing like that. When it gets dropped off to her she signs some papers or something. She has been looking for months and finally found the car she wants but doesn't know if that is the right idea or not.

A:

Y are ebay so disloyal to there 100% feedback sellers, by not respecting the no returns agreement?

by Gordon338 - March 14, 2019

A:

I've purchased 2 cars on ebay, one through a dealer (and had it shipped 1200 miles) and the other through a private seller and both transactions went fairly smooth. The private seller wanted me to pay him outside of ebay so he wouldn't be charged a fee but I insisted on conducting the transaction legitimately through ebay so it would protect both of us. I think we were leery of each other at first but it all worked out. I did buy the car sight unseen, flew to Chicago to pick it up and was very pleased with it so I was lucky. With that said, I did try to sell my boat on ebay but was bombarded with scammers so I sold it locally and will never try to sell anything expensive on ebay again. Trust nothing and nobody but your instincts.

by Mabel B27 - November 07, 2018

A:

Buying a car on eBay is tricky. This is not covered by the usual eBay guarantee so you're on your own.

Q:

Are their products are authentic?

A:

I've been doing this for some time(12 years next month). HIERARCHY OF SELLER RATINGS: GROUP1.100% sellers with thousands of "SELLS"(No recent neutral transactions nor Very Recent Negatives: Believe it or not, sellers with 100% and ton of sells can also have a negative or negatives). The more positive sells the better. GROUP2.100% Sellers with 150+ "SELLS"(No recent neutral feedbacks). The more positives sells the better. This group typically doesn't have negatives. GROUP3. Then, Recent Feedbacks rule the day if a seller has a lot of them and all positives recently(Last 300 FEEDBACKS). GROUP4. There are some situations where you might want to give almost anyone a shot, if the item is cheap. I WOULD NOT DO OVERSEAS OR ITEMS THAT CAN BE FAKED FOR THOSE FALLING OUTSIDE OF THE 1ST 3 GROUPS, THOUGH. GROUP5. DESPITE WHAT YOU MAY BE THINKING, IF YOU BUY FROM THOSE WITH 100% FEEDBACK THAT HAVE LESS THAN 150 SELLER FEEDBACKS, THEN YOU MAY BE ASKING FOR TROUBLE. It is my theory that these people CAN leave a bad reputation at ebay(duplicate account) or somewhere else behind and seek a brand new start. I was scammed(DID NOT RECEIVE) by someone when I first started at ebay. If you buy from them, then see Group4. A LAST PIECE OF ADVICE: STAY IN GROUP1 WHEN BUYING LIFE CHANGING AMOUNTS. WHEN IT GETS INTO THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, IT REQUIRES A SELLER THAT WOULD NEVER INTENTIONALLY CHEAT YOU. WE'RE TALKING SEVERAL THOUSANDS SELLER FEEDBACKS WITHOUT ERROR. AS THE PRICE GOES DOWN INTO THE HUNDREDS, YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER GROUP2, AS WELL. IN THE LOW HUNDREDS, YOU MIGHT CONSIDER GROUP3, AS WELL. ALSO, BE NICE, AS SOME SELLERS CAN BE GREAT, MOODY, HAVE A LOT GOING, AND/OR VENGEFUL! PRAY TO THE CHRISTIAN GOD IN THE NAME OF JESUS THAT ALL WORKS OUT! I'M NOT SAYING THAT YOU WILL ALWAYS GET NOTHING FOR PAYING, THAT YOU WILL DEAL WITH BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, ETC. WHEN YOU DO IT ANY OTHER WAY, BUT THIS WILL PRETTY MUCH PROVIDE HASSLE FREE EBAY BUYING.

by Nora Ramirez - October 17, 2017

A:

Nothing about eBay is authentic. They don't know anything about the item selling on their site. They do not manage products. They only allow people to sell and buy and they collect all the financial benefits

by Barrett687 - September 17, 2017

A:

Had a buyer purchase something from our store... the buyer wanted a refund and we agreed-ed but did not want to pay the return shipping for our measurements were correct.the buyer sent us threatening messages demanding the refund and wanted to keep our item. A case was opened and ebay ruled in our favor for the customer did not mail back our item.the case was closed and later on that night ebay marked our store below standard and restricted our sales... we list 2000 a month and ebay restricted our listings to 500.2 sales this month... 163 per month all the other months before this incident. After 20 calls talking to representatives absolutely nothing was resolved! All ebay can say to us is that a bad mistake was made, sorry and nothing can be done to rectify it.To top things off the buyer continued to harass us that even after the case was closed to get her to go away I refunded the money out of my own pocket. The buyer gets to keep the money and keep the item and we are left with a restricted store and a bad mark because of it. I have no respect for ebay... if you can sell your items somewhere else DO IT!

Q:

How do i get a buyers reviews

A:

You can contact the seller and ask. Also look at their rating, if it's 99% then they will take care of you! For years, most of my shopping I do is from sellers off Ebay and mostly do great! Good luck!

Q:

Why does eBay violate their own feedback rules to is it to suit their commercial interests

A:

Ive had a seller offer a partial refund for messing up my order. When i declined and wanted a full refund that Ebay "guarenteed" I got denied... even though the seller admitted he was wrong and was offering a partial refund... this company is complete garbage.

by Derrick555 - June 23, 2020

A:

You really have to know what your doing when you shop anywhere, store, website, yard sell, etc.

by Lisa M. - December 07, 2015

A:

They do so because as they told me, "they do not want to discourage or scare away buyers". And therefore you cannot post negative feedback however now what people (both buyers and sellers who have a bad experience) do is post negative comments in the positive area. Read this feedback carefully.
